Paul Russell and Company

Meet Alex Finigan

The head of our Classic Car Sales department is the consummate car guy. A boyhood spent treasuring the latest car magazine led him to open his own Porsche restoration business in upstate New York. By the late 1970s he found himself spinning wrenches in Marblehead, Mass., restoring 1950s Mercedes-Benz alongside Paul Russell.

An essential founding member and equity partner of Gullwing Service Company, Inc., Alex spent his first decade here displaying his mechanical talents on 300 SL roadsters and coupes. As the business expanded its undertaking to offer full restoration services on other European classics, and changed its name to Paul Russell and Company, our clients were requesting expert guidance in view of the accelerating sales market of the late 1980s.

Alex was the obvious choice to take on that assignment. His life-long habit of consuming everything ever written about any car, coupled with his technical knowledge, marketplace savvy, and personal contacts, make him a natural to assist those who wish to avoid the pitfalls others have encountered while collecting classic cars.

He has a well-deserved reputation for integrity, and consequently is entrusted with the special opportunities that are not always made available to the general public. His advice and guidance are given with an emphasis on building long-term relationships rather than on the closing of any one sale.

A member in good standing of all the local car clubs, Alex spends most of his free time tinkering with his Deuce Coupe or Porsche Speedsters in his custom-built garage. His wife, Krista, is a successful real estate agent at the Marblehead office of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. They have two grown children.

“He is the worst sort of car freak, one who has a photographic memory and who has twenty car magazines delivered to his house every month.”
