Richard Barnes, a long time employee in our upholstery department, recently returned from a very special trip to Rwanda. Over a ten day period he, along with his daughter and a handful of others, participated in an outreach program affiliated with the African New Life Church.

Though the group was small the results were not. With most paying for the trip out of their own funds, the money they raised went towards supporting the people of Rwanda. The team was able to supply food for 18 families for a month, deliver donated clothes and medical supplies (as well as a few soccer balls), help fund a women’s skill center and day care, and sponsor three children to go to school for a year. Richard remains committed to buying three sewing machines for the next class of graduates, so they can make money to sustain themselves. He is also ensuring that a very grateful 14 year old girl – named Grace – has the chance to further her education.
If you would like to offer your thanks and support for Richard’s efforts, please contact him via email.
