0060M was purchased from the factory by Briggs Cunningham in 1950. It remained in Europe initially and was shown on Luigi Chinetti's stand at the 1950 Paris Salon. After the show, it returned to Maranello where Ferrari converted it to 195S specifications. Chinetti then brought it to the US for Cunningham, making it the first in a long line of legendary closed competition Ferraris in America.

As was typical in that period, the Berlinetta was driven from New York to Florida to be personally delivered to Cunningham. It then entered the 1950 Sam Collier Memorial Sebring Grand Prix of Endurance 6 Hours where it won 1st in Class. While Luigi Chinetti and master mechanic Alfred Momo were listed as co-drivers, it was Chinetti who completed the entire event without a driver change. James “Jim” Kimberly, former CEO of Kimberly-Clark, would continue the success of the little Berlinetta while taking 1st in Class at the Juan Peron Sports Car Grand Prix in Buenos Aires on March 11th, 1951. Another 1st in Class would come at the hands of Phil Walters at the 3rd Annual Bridgehampton Road Races in June of 1951. The car would change hands multiple times in the years to come, while continuing to compete in events around the United States. At some point in the mid-1960s it was painted red. In 1981, Peter Briggs purchased the car and ran the Mille Miglia six times during his ownership.

Today, 0060M wears a late 90's restoration which has held up very well. It's shown in its original Sebring livery, and retains its original engine, gearbox and rear end. In August of 2001 it took 2nd place in its class at Pebble Beach. One of only six 166 MM/195 Sport Touring Berlinettas, 0060M is quite unique compared to the other five. The dash of 0060M has two large dials to the left of the steering wheel with four smaller dials placed in the center of the dials and the switches are placed to the right of the wheel. The other five cars have three large dials behind the wheel and the switches placed in the center of the dash. Air-vents in the deck lid and frenched in fog-lights give 0060M a wonderful and unique appearance.

This lovely Berlinetta is offered by us on behalf of a valued long-term client. It has recently seen a comprehensive service by our workshop that included replacement and repair of the shocks and new tires. 0060M is ready to be enjoyed and ready to headline at any of the world’s most prestigious historic races, rallies and concours events.
