In spite of the pouring rain on Saturday, very few entrants declined to brave the elements at the 28th Cavallino Classic. Opening the weekend on Thursday, the 1958 Ferrari 335 Sport n.0764 was featured as one of three cars chosen for the restoration seminar. After an explanation of the development and history of the car, and the restoration process, the audience was invited to ask questions of their own about the car.
This year, event chairman John Barnes highlighted the big displacement V-12 sport racers from the late 1950s. All three of the surviving 335 Sports were center stage on the putting green at Cavallino.

Back in 2014, this extraordinary 335S participated in the track events and concorso at Cavallino, when it was awarded the Ferrari Spirit Cup. Since that time, the car has been completely and authentically restored to it’s Daytona winning livery, resulting in numerous Best of Show awards.
The 335 Sport of Andreas and Frederike Mohringer won a Platinum Award in their class. And then, among the Testa Rossas, TdFs, SWBs, Californias, Superamericas, etc, went on to be chosen for the “Best in Show” Cavallino Cup.
