Paul Russell and Company at the 75th Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance

First in Class & Best of Show Runner-Up
Among an incredible display of cars, both in its Ferrari by Vignale Class and the Concours at large, our 1954 Ferrari 375 America Carbiolet by Vignale, chassis 0353 AL, received First in Class, at the 75th Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Not only are we honored to have received this First in Class award, but we are pleased that judges placed this special Ferrari among 3 other entrants in contest of Best of Show.
0353 AL is the only Ferrari of its kind, being the only cabriolet of Ferrari’s flagship 375 America series. Only 12 of this series were built, and this is the 4th of 4 total cars bodied by Carrozzeria Vignale within the series. This car exists today as a reference for how Ferrari and Vignale built cars, where this particular chassis is restored to its original specification, just as it left the factory in December of 1954.
The combination of physical evidence found on the car and a precious set of few photos taken at the Race of Two Worlds in 1957 informed a meticulous restoration. This process presented a trying set of challenges for our team, given the scarcity of upfront information. Deep research, in collaboration with Jeff Murray of Vintage Auto Research, allowed us to corroborate the car’s original owner: famed Italian actor Gabriele Ferzetti. One would expect a person of Ferzetti’s stature to have been extensively documented with the car, yet this was not the case. Information assembled from near-chassis Vignale-bodied Ferraris, our own archives, and the physical evidence found on the car itself, notably original paint and leather, informed the restoration process.

The restoration of 0353 AL proved highly rewarding for both our company and client, and we could not be happier with the validation that our efforts received this past Sunday at the 75th Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

In addition to the debut of our 375 America restoration, Paul Russell and Company readied the following cars.
Chassis 0026M – a 1950 Ferrari 166 Mille Miglia / 195 S LM Berlinetta by Touring. This car was featured in Cavallino Palm Beach’s Legacy Class at the start of the year, and was featured at Pebble Beach for display only. This restoration was completed by Paul Russell and Company in 2007 and has stood the test of time.

Chassis 0090E, a 1951 Ferrari 212 Export by Vignale – A new set of historic photos, pictured below, allowed us to revisit and improve on several features of the car, building on a nearly 30-year-old restoration and extensive service by Paul Russell and Company. Most notably, the gauges, engine bay details, and tire lettering were revised to reflect historic accuracy. 0090E was collaboratively reviewed by Swiss magazine Automobil Revue and UK’s Autocar early in its life, presumed to be the earliest Ferrari to be reviewed by an automotive publication. The discovery this journalism, and its associated photography, informed these changes. The car was judged as a part of the Ferrari by Vignale class, alongside our newly restored 375 America.

Chassis 08545, a 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB – Since recent new ownership, we’ve been lucky to service this car. It was our pleasure to prepare the car for this year’s Pebble Beach celebrations, and to see it place Third in Class for Ferrari Grand Touring. We last showed this car at the 2025 Cavallino Classic in Palm Beach, where it was awarded Best in Class & Platinum.

The Tour d'Elegance | August 13th, 2026

Thursday morning’s Tour d’Elegance brought a light mist and overcast for the event’s duration, not unusual for the Monterey Peninsula. Participants completed a rerouted Tour, the result of ongoing wildfires in Big Sur.
